WILL ADKIN says his East Grinstead side cannot afford to take their eye off the ball now in their quest for glory this season.
East Grinstead took a massive step towards their goal of winning the Sussex Premier Division with a first league win over Preston Nomads on Saturday, moving them above their opponents and into second place.
But while Adkin said it was a fantastic win for Grinstead, he said this weekend’s game with league leaders Roffey is even more important, given the champions’ four-point advantage at the summit, with a game in hand.
It was fantastic to get the win on Saturday, We were all very happy afterwards and it sets us up for what is a massive game this weekend. At the moment, the ball is still in Roffey’s court because they still have to play the Sussex Development XI, but if we can beat them on Saturday, that could change things.
And confidence is high within the Grinstead camp as they look to pursue glory on two fronts, with a trip to Wimbledon on Sunday for the regional finals of the ECB T20 Knockout competition.
