Chequer Mead Friends Honoured with Plaque

Chequer Mead Friends Honoured with Plaque

A plaque honouring the Chequer Mead Friends committee was unveiled earlier this month, to thank them for their substantial fundraising efforts and support over the last 20 years.
The plaque, which was organised by Chequer Mead, was unveiled by the newly appointed General Manager, Will Perkins, alongside the Chairman of the Trustees Rex Whittaker.
The aforementioned Chequer Mead Friends scheme disbanded in September 2016 having spent many years supporting the growth of the theatre.
Mr Perkins, who instigated the installation of the plaque said, “We wanted to show a lasting recognition of thanks for all the hard work and valuable support that the ‘friends’ have given to Chequer Mead over the years.”
Former Chequer Mead Friends Chairperson, Ginnie Waddingham said “We are delighted to have been presented with the plaque, and to be honoured with thanks for all the hard work
over the years. We all will continue to enjoy the growth and restructure of Chequer Mead, proving how important having this theatre is for the community, inspiring future generations”
The plaque is located in the foyer area, near the entrance of Chequer Mead celebrating over 20 years of support to the venue.
Chequer Mead is currently preparing to launch a new scheme; “Premium Club”, to replace the role of the friends which is set to offer a variety of benefits to club members. The club is set to soft launch in the autumn followed by an official launch before Christmas 2017.
