Coleman’s Hatch Flower Show- New Venue – New Date
Following the need to find another show venue and to address the disturbing matter of the long held show date being held on the fourth Saturday in July when many people are on holiday, the recent AGM accepted an offer from Ashdown House Preparatory School to hold future shows in their considerable grounds opposite the school.
Ashdown House Preparatory School is one of the leading co-educational, boarding and day, preparatory schools in the country, founded in 1843, it is also one of the oldest.
Situated beside the Ashdown Forest, in 40 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Ashdown House offers a stunning rural location.
Along with a new show date of the third Saturday in July, with next year being the 18th July, these major changes will hopefully result in a far greater appeal to many more supporters who in the past have through personal circumstances been unable to participate in one of the ever reducing number of truly local events, where communities and friends are reunited if only for a day.
The emphasis of The Coleman’s Hatch Flower Show, apart from it being one of the biggest local opportunities for local and surrounding area residents to exhibit all their talents in the numerous Classes held in the main marquee, it is also an important day out for families together with their children to enjoy the many activities, entertainments and trade stalls provided.
In an age of soaring costs associated with many shows reflected in their high admission charges, Coleman’s Hatch Flower Show offers families a really fun day out at minimum cost, especially as children under 13 have free entry and supported by the many sponsors, schedule advertisers, raffle prize donors, all of which contribute to an ongoing successful local show for which we are truly thankful.
