East Grinstead parkrun establishes itself

Saturday saw the 25th running of East Grinstead’s parkrun at East Court. Open to both new and experienced runners, the event is one of nearly 500 that take place each Saturday around the UK. In its first six months our local parkrun has seen over 1000 different participants who have all run, jogged or walked the 5km course. An average of 93 people of all abilities complete the parkrun each week and have completed a distance of over 11,600 km in its first six months.

If you fancy joining in then simply register on the parkrun website here and come along for a 9.00am start on any Saturday to the lower car park at East Court. You can even get a post run coffee at East Grinstead Town Football Club nearby and socialise with other runners. You may in time want to support the event by occasionally becoming one of the 25 or so volunteers that make it happen so smoothly each week.

East Grinstead parkrun is a welcome addition to the Town’s range of options for those who are looking to take up exercise in a welcoming and supportive environment.
